Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery
Garni Temple is a masterpiece of Hellenistic architecture in Armenia. It was reconstructed in 1975, almost 300 years after it was destroyed in an earthquake. Next to the Temple there is a Roman bath with a partly preserved mosaic floor with a Greek inscription.
Geghard is a medieval monastery in the Kotayk province of Armenia, being partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The complex of medieval buildings is set into a landscape of great natural beauty, surrounded by towering cliffs at the entrance to the Azat Valley.
